Sonoran Bank grows

The Phoenix-based Sonoran Bank has reached 31 million in assets, and recently was designated by Gov. Janet Napolitano as the official bank of business with the Arizona-Mexico Commission. As such, it can participate in and facilitate cross-border economic opportunities between Arizona and Mexico. Sonoran Bank opened in 2006 with about $8.5 million in assets. Its headquarters is located at 3877 N. 7th St. In addition, Guadalupe Gomez recently joined Sonoran Bank as business development officer. He will develop banking relationships with minority owned small businesses in Arizona. He has 25 years experience in banking and finance, formerly was with Biltmore Bank of Arizona, The Laredo National Bank, and Nueces National Bank in Corpus Christi, Texas. Gomez has a finance degree from Corpus Christi State University in Texas.
