Convention showcases cool comics

If you think comic books are a thing from your distant past, take your kids for a reality check Sept. 23 – 24 to the Phoenix Cactus Comicon 2006, coming to the Mesa Convention Center, 201 N. Center St., Mesa.

Aisles of artists, comic books, anime and gaming events will be available for those who have outgrown Pokeman and Yu-gi-oh. Tickets: $30 til Sept. 15; $35 at the door; kids younger than 10 are free with an adult paid admission. Info: visit www.phoenixcomicon.com.
