Reaction to softball’s elimination from the Olympics … “I am disappointed because USA Softball is a great program, and it’s something I grew up watching in the Olympics.”
Any superstition to wearing No. 7 … “I like this number because Mickey Mantle was a switch hitter like I used to be, but now I mainly stick to (batting from) the left side.”
Favorite Valley pro athlete: “Phil Mickelson.”
Best part of being a Wildcat … “Getting to play for Coach (Mike) Candrea ... winning the Women’s College World Series in 2007.”
Shining for
Team USA
Arrendondo had her best game in international play this past summer when Team USA beat Belize 15-0 at the Pan American Qualifier Championships in Maracay, Venezuela. She was 4 for 4 with three runs batted in and four runs scored. Team USA went on to win the Gold Medal.

UA plays host to the Arizona Fall Classic Oct. 9-11 at Hillenbrand Stadium in Tucson; the 2010 seasons begins in February at the Kajikawa Classic at Arizona State.
