UMC ranks among top 100

University Medical Center is among the top 100 hospitals in the nation with the best service.

A national study has named University Medical Center in Tucson among the top 100 hospitals in the nation with the fastest, most consistent improvement over five consecutive years. International healthcare consulting firm Thomson Reuters announced its 100 Top Hospital Performance Leaders among hospitals in the United States. UMC was the only Arizona hospital to make the list. The study examined the performance of more than 2,800 U.S. hospitals on a variety of clinical, financial, operational and patient-safety criteria from 2002 to 2006.

This is the second time this year that UMC has been named among the nation's top hospitals by Thomas Reuters. In March, UMC earned their Top 100 Hospitals National Benchmarks for Success Award, which measures the annual performance of thousands of hospitals across the United States. With the Performance Improvement Leaders Award, UMC joins an elite group of only 16 hospitals in the United States to have earned both awards.
