Local latinos were honored in the 2008 Tucson 40 Under 40.

Rising Tucson Hispanics honored

They are bold, entrepreneurial, and among those honored in the 2008 Tucson 40 Under 40 annual awards.  Javier F. Herrera was named the Man of the Year. Herrera, 26, is an administrative services officer with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. Herrera has also served as state director for Arizona LULAC and was named the organization’s man of the year when he was 24. Other Hispanic finalists:

 

Corey Arvizu, Heinfeld, Meech & Co.; Magdalena Barajas, City of Tucson; Montserrat F. Caballero, SACASA; Julio C. Herrera, Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson; Patrick J. Lopez, Mesch, Clark &Rothschild; Maricela Solis de Kester, Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; and Edgar Soto, Pima Community College.
