Cox salutes Hispanic heritage
Cox Communications Arizona highlighs Latino leaders during National Hispanic Heritage Month.

For the fourth year, Cox Communications Arizona is highlighting Latino leaders during National Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15-Oct. 15. The media campaign includes a series of TV PSA spots showcasing Phoenix and Tucson high-profile Latinos, as well as two Cox employees. The spots air on Cox channels in central and southern Arizona until Oct. 15. “We are pleased to honor a group of individuals whose character, hard work and dedication to their communities have helped pave a road for others to follow,” says Steve Rizley, VP and regional manager. “We hope that these individuals will serve as an inspiration for future generations of leaders in our state.”
Faces in the spots belong to: Gerardo Higginson, Hispanic media aide to Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon; Luz Sarmina, CEO of Valle del Sol, Inc.; and Arthur Martinez, medical director of El Rio Health Center in Tucson. Also, siblings Lea Marquez-Peterson and Edward Marquez of Tucson, who come from a long line of Tucson business leaders. Lea is a business broker and owner of Tucsonbizforsale.com. Edmund is runs a Suzuki auto franchise, the first ever Mexican American owned new car outlet in Tucson history. Cox Communications honorees are Julio Herrera, the Cox Outstanding Latino Employee in Phoenix, and Belinda Federico, Cox Outstanding Latina Employee in Tucson. Cox Communications is the third largest cable provider and serves nearly 3 million subscribers in Arizona.
