LAREP to hold seminar to educate Latino Americans on Real Estate fraud

The Latin-American Association of Real Estate Professionals (LAREP) is teaming up with the Arizona Department of Real Estate Fraud to educate non-English-speaking consumers.

LAREP estimates that more than 90 percent of Hispanic fraud victims do not file complaints because of lack of information. Fraudulent real estate practitioners, loan officers, notaries, appraisers, builders, escrow officers, among others, have been the subjects of more than 600 complaints to the department.

The group is holding a free seminar, “ALTO al Fraude,” on Oct. 19 at Orangewood Church, 27th Avenue and Orangewood in Phoenix. Registration is required as seating is limited.
