diggSMCC hosts food-box sale
South Mountain Community College are selling discounted boxes of food for St. Mary's
South Mountain Community College employees and students will pack and sell discounted boxes of food as volunteers for the St. Mary’s/Westside Food Bank Alliance.
The next Food Value Club sale will be held noon to 2 p.m., Oct. 6, at 7050 S. 24th St., in the east parking lot of the Performing Arts Center. Future sales will be held at the same time on Nov. 3, Dec. 1, Feb. 2, 2007, March 2, and April 13.
The program is designed to provide low-cost, high-quality food and is not a government program, a handout or a charity. Anyone may purchase food boxes filled by high-quality goods purchased by the St. Mary’s Food Bank at reduced prices.
Boxes range from $10 to $15 and include meat, vegetarian and mixed selections. All purchases must be made in cash. Buyers will receive additional food items like fruits and vegetables.
