Puccini at its best join LPM at Tosca

There is nothing like a night at the opera with Phoenix Opera, SRP and Latino Perspectives Magazine.

Join us and experience the ornate carvings of the historical Orpheum Theater in downtown Phoenix, the magnificent sets, the splendorous costumes, and of course, the singing that soars!

On Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m., LPM is excited to partner with Phoenix Opera to present another Cultural Connections special event, and offer a limited number of 50 percent off tickets to our readers for a performance of Puccini’s Tosca.

A world-class city like Phoenix deserves a class act, and that is exactly what our virtuosi friends at Phoenix Opera have to offer. John Massaro, general director, and his wife Gail Dubinbaum, creative director, are proud to present the exciting, 2008-2009 season of Tosca in November and Aïida early next year.

Phoenix Opera imports the talent of Argentinean mezzo-soprano Fabiana Bravo to sing the starring role of Floria Tosca. Five local tenors that will perform are Antonio Lozano, Francisco Renteria, Paul Gallegos, Guillermo Ontiveros, and Arnulfo Velasquez.

Lozano, of Mexican ancestry, issues a personal invitation to LPM readers to join Phoenix Opera at the Orpheum.

“We have to experience life, and to do that we have to be opened minded. Opera is just like what we experience every day, except that it is expressed in a different language, and through acting and music. Come to Tosca and experience the beauty and craftsmanship of the operatic art.”
