Flagstaff to Build Marketplace

A private-public partnership has produced The Marketplace at Flagstaff Mall, a collection of retail, entertainment and dining shops and restaurants in an outdoor, village-style setting.

A series of small streets, walkways, terraces and plazas (some with view of Mount Elden) will connect the new addition at Flagstaff Mall, which is the largest shopping mall in the city and surrounding area. Plans call for a pedestrian walkway to connect the existing closed mall with the new outdoor area.

Mall development company Westcor and the City of Flagstaff are partnering in the project. An auto park and residential component is also part of the concept. City officials are hoping Flagstaff residents will opt to visit the new Marketplace instead of going into the Valley for entertainment.
