Late night noshing

Now there is hope in the east Valley for late-night bistros

There are times when you've gone to a concert and you are simply ravenous for something to eat. Alas, there have been few late-night bistros open in the Valley, but now there is hope in the east Valley.

The Olive & Ivy has opened on the Waterfront in Scottsdale, boasting a luscious Mediterranean menu that is ripe for late-evening nibbling. Beginning at 7 a.m., breakfast pastries and hot cereals are available in a gourmet bakery; for lunch and dinner, traditional foods such as Lemon chicken and hummus sandwiches ($11), Moroccan-style lamb ($28) and pasta dishes such as Veal and Spinach Ravioli with Mizuna Salad ($19) are available. A high-end retail market features food products for browsers and there are even private dining areas. Wines form a big component of the drinks menu, setting this bistro apart as more upscale.

We suggest sharing a dish to defray the cost of dining late. The both of you won't go home hungry.
