Two win top award
Phoenix Young Man and Young Woman of the Year are announced
Two Phoenix youth earned the titles of Phoenix Young Man and Young Woman of the Year. Jose Razo and Adriana Delgado were honored for their community service and school work in April at the Phoenix Country Club. Razo is a senior at GateWay Early College High School. He volunteers with a state representative, Habitat for Humanity and helps organize his church’s weekly community youth service. He will graduate in May with a high school diploma and an associate’s degree from GateWay Community College.Delgado, a senior at Trevor Browne High School, started a club at Browne called La Familia that encourages fellow students and family members to make a positive difference in the community. She is enrolled in Junior ROTC and volunteers at the Boys and Girls Club. The runners-up for the award include: Jonathan Porter, Katherine Weingartner, Jason Schartz, Monica Espaillat-Lizardo, James Harris, Kelsey Rader, Christian Solorio, Veronica Chavez, Kameron Kerns, Kunal Mangal, Nicole Jiam, Michael Dimler, Mabel Munoz and Deyzi Ixtabalan.
