One of the hottest indie filmmakers around is right here at ASU. Crystal Griffith, an associate professor in the Herberger College School of Theatre and Film, has won the prestigious Martha Munoz Award for her script Blues for the Sea. The Munoz was the top prize in the 2007 Latino Screenplay competition. (www.latinoscreenplaycompetition.com) As the co-founder of Q.U.A.D. Productions, she produces short, social justice documentaries for artists, community and international organizations. Griffith is an independent filmmaker raised in Washington, D.C. and sojourned in Barcelona, Spain.
