Latinas recognize immigrant advocate
The group Latina Women of Success recognized Magdalena Schwartz on April 10 at Tradiciones restaurant for her work in helping the immigrant community. In 1995, she founded Latino Community Services, a business that serves immigrants. About 10,000 people have been made American citizens through her document-preparation and legal advice program. She is also director of the Religious Leaders Alliance of the Valley, a multi-denominational group of Arizona churches. In addition, Schwartz has lobbied in our nation’s Capitol for immigration law reform and human and civil rights for immigrants. For more, www.mlde.org.
