Cesar Chavez Labor Bridge in Tucson

This tribute in art took seven years to finish, but in April the Cesar Chavez Labor Bridge was dedicated at the southeast corner of 6th Avenue and I-10 on Tucson’s south side. The intricate mural by artistas Alex Garza and Josh Sarantitis is a public art homage to how the late labor leader used a peaceful movement to improve civil rights for all U.S. Latinos. “We feel this will become known as one of the most important pieces of public art in the western United States,” Garza says.
