Utilities name Swift CFO to boards

Ramiro “Ramey” Peru has been named to the boards of directors of Tucson Electric Power and UniSource Energy Services, UniSource Energy Corp.’s primary subsidiaries. Peru is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Swift Corp., holding company for Phoenix-based trucking carrier Swift Transportation. He also was a longtime executive at Phelps Dodge Corp., eventually becoming executive vice president and chief financial officer. The Chandler resident is a member of the University of Arizona Foundation board of directors. In addition, he serves on the UA Eller Graduate School of Management’s national board of advisors and the board of directors of WellPoint, Inc., one of the nation’s largest health benefits providers. Tucson Electric Power serves more than 385,000 customers in southern Arizona while UniSource Energy Services delivers natural gas and electric service to more than 224,000 customers across Arizona.
