Luna gains CEO title at education foundation

Paul J. Luna, president of the Helios Education Foundation, has been named its president and CEO. In addition to providing leadership in his new position, Luna’s priorities involve managing the successful expansion and growth of the foundation to fulfill its goal of increasing the number of young adults who complete their postsecondary education with the skills and knowledge needed to compete in a global economy. Since joining the foundation in November 2006, Luna has developed a plan for strategically investing the foundation’s resources to impact early childhood education, the transition years in grades 5 through 12, and college careers. Before joining the foundation, Luna was president of Valley of the Sun United Way, where he led a community fundraising effort of nearly $50 million. Helios Education Foundation is the largest nonprofit organization serving Arizona and Florida focused on education. Its endowment is more than $600 million. For more, www.helios.org.
