Habitat for Humanity builds Guadalupe homes

The pride of new home ownership is now within reach of 26 families in Guadalupe, thanks to the efforts of Habitat for Humanity, First National Bank and business leaders. One of the first to benefit is the Yazzie family, who now live in a five-bedroom house—the largest home built in the Valley through Habitat for Humanity. The Guadalupe project is comprised of 26 lots, with several homes already built and occupied while others are under construction. Valley of the Sun Habitat for Humanity started in 1987 and is known for its unique “South Ranch” project, a planned development of 195 homes with a community center, children’s playground and homeowners association. Besides Guadalupe, the group’s service area includes Phoenix, Glendale, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Guadalupe and Apache Junction. For more, www.habitataz.org.
