Annual Phoenix College Latin American festival offers week of free films

Cinema fans can get their fix of celluloid at Phoenix College's free Latin American Film Festival March 27 - 31. Each evening, beginning at 7 p.m., a different film is screened in the college's Bulpitt Auditorium.

What's cool are the discussions with directors that follow each movie. Among films scheduled:

March 28: Sueños Bi-Nacionales (Bi-national Dreams), USA, 2004; director Yolanda Cruz. Documentary about indigenous immigrants; also Los Veteranos (The Veterans), USA, 2005; directed by PC history professor Pete Dimas.

March 29: Suite Habana, Cuba, 2004; director Fernando Pérez, about Cuban life.
