New Latino documentary is in the works for PBS and Latino Public Broadcasting

Ken Burns had his shot at producing accurate Latino contributions to U.S. history, but blew it. Now WETA TV station in Washington, D.C., and Latino Public Broadcasting have announced a partnership to produce a multi-part documentary series for PBS chronicling the experience, influence and impact of Latinos on the U.S. Research and development work has begun on The Latino Americans, slated to be broadcast in fall of 2011. The Latino Americans will consist of three, two-hour episodes, tracing the history of Latinos in the United States. Beginning with the founding of the country in 1776, the series will illuminate Latino contributions.
