New La Frontera board officers named

La Frontera Center in Tucson has elected new officers for its board of directors, including Celestino Fernandez, vice president; Frank Y. Valenzuela, custodial secretary; and Maria Elena McElroy, recording secretary. La Frontera Center is a private, non-profit community behavioral health center. Fernandez is professor of sociology at The University of Arizona and affiliated faculty member at the school’s Center for Latin American Studies. Valenzuela is executive director of the Community Investment Corp. and treasurer of the Pima County Industrial Development Authority. McElroy is the director of human resources for HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Southern Arizona and a board member of Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona. She has worked in the human resource field as director/vice president in acute care hospitals of differing sizes for over 30 years. www.lafrontera.org.
