Healthcare school honors trio

A.T. Still University, a multidisciplinary healthcare complex of three learning facilities in Mesa, recently honored 11 individuals, businesses and groups at its Sixth Annual Crystal Awards program. The winners included Angela Gonzales, who covers biotechnology and healthcare for The Business Journal of Phoenix, who was honored in the media category. Awards in the healthcare excellence category were given to Linda Lopez, state representative for District 29 and community relations coordinator for La Frontera Center in Tucson, and Dr. Arthur Martinez, a general practitioner at El Rio Community Health Care in Tucson. The Missouri-based health sciences school gives the awards to recognize commitment and dedication to improving the lives of Arizona’s citizens through creative and innovative problem-solving. The three schools in the Valley are School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona, Arizona School of Health Sciences and Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health. www.atsu.edu.
