MED SCHOOL GETS $5 MILLION

The University of Arizona Foundation was recently awarded a $5 million gift from the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust to benefit the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix, in partnership with Arizona State University.

The Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust is a private foundation that seeks to enhance and strengthen the quality of life for people in Maricopa County through support of health care and medical research, children, older adults, arts and culture, education and religious organizations.

The Phoenix medical school will welcome its first four-year class of medical students in August.
