These folks are the real Super Bowl party poopers

We checked to make sure, and found that nobody in our office has gold-tooth grillz. No gangstas here... despite Steve Kushnir’s assumptions. And these days, he seems to be acting as if he got a little bling from 50 Cent at a Scottsdale Super Bowl party.

Okay, we admit right up front that we at Latino Perspectives Magazine are what some in the biz would call “Hispanic-targeted media.”

But, yo, checkz it out, we ain’ts no thugz, ya’ll!

With that in mind, consider this: Two California businessmen recently sued 944 Magazine for going what you might call a little crazy with the company credit card. California-based event promoters Steve Weiner and Ira Klein of Explosive Productions charge that 944 Magazine overspent by about $1 million to throw a Super Bowl Party last year in Scottsdale.

Weiner and Klein also allege in court documents filed in a Maricopa County Court that 944 executive Steve Kushnir refused to advertise in “Hispanic-targeted media” (like us) because they feared it would attract the wrong crowd (not like us) and, well, ruin the party.

In an email sent a few days before the party, court documents show, 944 executive Kushnir expressed “concern” that if he advertised in Latino media: “We will have a bunch of gangbangers and get shut down.”

First of all, we didn’t know gangbangers liked to read. (Sorry, gangbangers, no offense). Not to mention, wasn’t the infamous rapper 50 Cent invited to that party? That guy’s been shot at more times than Tom Hanks in Saving Private Ryan.

By the way, among 944’s invited guests: boxer Hector Camacho Jr. Now, Hector’s cool. Latinos like Hector. That’s apparently one of the reasons Explosive Productions suggested that 944 executives run ads on Spanish-language radio stations.

But according to court documents, the 944 exec told Explosive Productions at a Scottsdale meeting: “There is no (#$&)*#&) way we are going to advertise to Mexicans.”

Uh, Mr. Kushnir, all we want to say is: Buena suerte, pendejo. Call us if you need help translating.

Steve Kushnir is not only a cultural idiot, but a horrible businessman to boot. The reason his event was a huge loser wat that he committed a capital marketing sin: He dissed the Hispanic market. Every savvy biz person around knows that you'd better pay attention to the growing, ever more powerful Hispanic market if you want your business to survive. 944 magazine ahd Kushnir are losers.
