 Arizona songbird Ruth Lara Vichules has just released Jazzpañol, her first CD of classic jazz married with Latin roots. The album was recorded in San Miguel de Allende, employing three fine jazz musicians. Listen to Vichule’s bilingual jazz interpretations with your eyes closed, and you are transported to a smoky night club, with statuesque Ruth as soulful torch singer bathed in a weak spotlight, and patrons rising to sway to the oh-so-romantic Sabor a Mi, or tapping their feet to a jumpin’ version of All of Me.
