Piper honors two

The Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust has awarded fellowships to Terri León, chief operating officer of Friendly House, and Kurt Sheppard, chief administrative officer of Valle del Sol, to support their efforts in planning for the future. León plans to take courses to help her strengthen Friendly House’s ability to respond to the needs of the community while Sheppard will attend seminars at Harvard Business School and Stanford University as well as become involved in the National Center on Nonprofit Enterprise Conference. The Phoenix-based organizations provide training, counseling and other services to the community. For more, www.pipertrust.org.
