Nominees sought for presidential award

2007 Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching accepting nominations for outstanding teachers

The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching is accepting nominations for outstanding teachers for its 2007 awards.

Each year, the White House recognizes exceptional math and science teachers from all 50 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, Department of Defense Schools and the U.S. Territories. Seventh- to 12th-grade teachers are eligible.

Award recipients receive: a citation signed by the President of the United States; the opportunity to join a dynamic network of Presidential awardees; a trip for two to Washington, D.C., to attend a weeklong series of recognition events and professional development opportunities; gifts from program sponsors from around the country and a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation.
