Arizona is the fastest growing state in the nation, according to the Census Bureau. The state added 213,311 people, including 32,000 immigrants and 130,000 people moving here from other states. The additional residents bring the total population to 6.1 million, making Arizona the 16th largest state. The 2006 growth rate was 3.6 percent. Meanwhile, the Northeast U.S. region lost 375,000 residents, and the Midwest lost 184,000. For more, visit www.census.gov.
