No, we’re not talking about the latest fundraising raffle. Instead, consider entering your favorite dicho (saying) in Scott brand’s contest to win up to $3,000 grand prize or other prizes. Scott, a Kimberly-Clark company, will compile the sayings in what it calls the world’s first “dicho-nary.”

We swear we’re not making this up.

Dichos have been handed down through the generations by word of mouth, and make their appearance almost any time two Latinos strike up a conversation,” says spokesperson and radio psychologist Dr. Isabel Gomez-Bassols in a news release. “By compiling them and making them accessible to future generations, Scott is helping preserve a very important and precious part of our cultural legacy.”

To participate in the “Comparte tu Dicho” contest, visit the company’s Spanish Web site, www.ScottSentidoComun.com before Dec. 14. Winners will be selected in a random drawing held at the end of December.

And before you assume what type of paper the “dicho-nary” will be printed on, look for the compilation to be posted on the Web site.
