Restaurant owners honored
A governor and mayor honored Raul and Theresa's Restaurant for 38 years of community service in Avondale
Governor Janet Napolitano, Maricopa County Supervisor Mary Rose Wilcox and West Valley mayors honored Raul and Theresa's Restaurant for 38 years of community service in Avondale. Sunday, Oct. 29, was proclaimed Raul and Theresa's Day.
The governor was joined by Mayors Marie Lopez Rogers of Avondale, Bobby Bryant of Buckeye, Jim Cavanaugh of Goodyear and Adolfo Gamez of Tolleson at the restaurant, 519 W. Main in Avondale. Raul and Theresa Chayrez opened their restaurant in 1968 and have been operating in the same location for 38 years. The couple has invested in the community by becoming involved with various local organizations. They have been active and generous members of the Southwest Chamber of Commerce since 1994. Raul serves on the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Board and he has been Grand Marshall for Billy Moore Days. For more info: (602) 932-1120.
