Latino journalists honored
Elvira Espinoza and Luis Manuel Ortiz are first Latinos inducted into journalist Hall of Fame
Two executives for La Voz weekly newspaper, Elvira Espinoza and Luis Manuel Ortiz, became the first Latinos to be inducted in the Hall of Fame that honors the most distinguished journalists in the state.
Espinoza, publisher, and Ortiz, editorial director, became the first Latinos to be inducted to the Arizona Journalism Hall of Fame during the 67th Annual Convention of the Arizona Newspapers Association. Espinoza and Ortiz received this award after having practiced journalism for more than 23 years in the state.
