Phoenix College faculty member Luis Bleuze receives 2006 Community Leadership Award
The Latino Institute presented Phoenix College faculty member Luis Bleuze with its 2006 Community Leadership Award for his engagement with the community at large. Bleuze is an instructor in the Geospatial Program at Phoenix College, and he also teaches at Genesis Academy High School. As a mentor, role model and friend, he has shown a genuine enthusiasm for youth by making a difference in many of their lives.
"I feel honored and humbled by this award," says Bleuze, "but the recognition was never in my mind...doing the right thing for our Latino youth is what it's about. I am just one person trying to make a positive impact."
