NEW FRAUD LAW

Arizona has enacted a law that toughens penalties for mortgage fraud and related crimes. The law makes mortgage fraud a felony punishable by up to 10 years in state prison. The bill had bipartisan support in the Legislature and was signed into law by Gov. Janet Napolitano. Related crimes include loan scams and inflated appraisals.
