Parents looking for programs to showcase their children's talents have afew new choices this month.
The Bear Essential News seeks bilingual kids to serve as reporters for its Fox 10 TV news show. Interested third- through eighth-graders can contact Joy Hepp at (480) 752-2327 or e-mail her at joy@bearessentialnews.com.
Mariachi workshops are scheduled Aug. 6 and Sept 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sept. 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chandler Center for the Arts, 250 N. Arizona Ave. Participants, ages five and older, must bring their own instruments and music stands. Cost $25.
Folklorico dance workshops, open to children five and older, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 8 and Sept. 6 - 7 at Chandler High School, 350 N. Arizona Ave. Students should wear hard-soled shoes; girls should wear full skirts and blouses. Cost is $25.
