Diversity Growth
The City of Phoenix is slowly hiring more women and minorities. Of the 13,935 people employed by the city at the end of the last fiscal year, 39.1 percent (5,453) were minorities and 32 percent (4,462), were women. The figures come from the latest study by the city's Equal Opportunity Department. Both figures represent small increases over the previous year, with the number of minorities and females working for the city each growing by about 1 percent. For more info, visit www.phoenix.gov.
