Avnet winners

Students representing seven community college teams took home $1,000 scholarships at the Avnet Tech Games. The annual competition brought together more than 100 students from the Maricopa Community College District who competed in seven categories. The students comprised 33 teams from 12 campuses throughout the Valley. The winners are:

AMD Build the Fastest Computer: Mario Hernandez and Fernando Ramos from Maricopa Skill Center.
Microsoft Defense in Depth: Michael Cervantez, Matt Stephenson, Doug Forte and Ray Miranda from South Mountain Community College.

Design and Build a Digital Device: Jonathan Stanley, Ly Ly and Stephen Bonar from Mesa Community College.

Accenture Build an E-Business Web site: Med Lithalangsy, William Gately and Heather Verley from Paradise Valley Community College.

Multimedia: Christopher Aaslid, Adam Rini and Zach Smith from Scottsdale Community College

Robot Maze Navigation: Felix Rusu, Tom Mintzer and Alvin Moradi from Mesa CC.

EMC Technology Trends: Von Packard, Krista Pappas and Jonathan Ortiz from Mesa CC.
